Nina is a London based cinematographer, originally from Rio de Janeiro. In 2023 she graduated from the National Film And Television School with an MA in Cinematography. Her work has collected many awards and appeared in BAFTA and OSCAR qualifying festivals such as London Short Film Festival, Bolton International Film Festival, British Arrows, Berlin Commercial Awards, Encounters Film Festival and more. Her NFTS stop-motion animation 'The Tornado Outside' was a finalist for the Yugo BAFTA Student Award and since then has collected many nominations and awards in various international film festivals. Some of her recent projects include the 16mm body horror short "Horny", awarded with the prestigious Shore Scripts funding and two Slick Films produced shorts. One commissioned by LumoTV and one directed by Freddie Fox (Slow Horses, The Gentlemen), in which she was a daily cinematographer. She also shot the horror short "Bone" directed by actor Georgie Henley (The Chronicles Of Narnia, The Diplomat), currently in post-production.
She is interested in story above all and building the visual language that best suits the project while keeping things exciting and fresh. She values the time spent with directors and production designers while finding the look of the film, but also the magic that happens during the shoot, so she always keeps an eye open for the unexpected. On set, she aims to create a collaborative and safe environment, while keeping the work bold and fun.
